Students have rated the University of Lincoln in the top 20 in the UK for academic support, learning resources and learning community.
Results of the new-look National Student Survey were published today (9th August). The University of Lincoln scored higher than the sector average in every question category of the survey, which is completed by final year undergraduate students across the UK.
Several of Lincoln’s courses were rated number one in the UK for their subject areas, including Biochemistry, Social Sciences and Sociology. Eight areas were ranked number one in one or more of the question areas and 16 were placed in the top 10% in one or more areas.
Professor Mary Stuart, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, said: “I am proud of our performance, especially the way that so many of our subjects have been recognised for excellence and ranked in the top 10% in the UK. These results again reflect the value that Lincoln students place on the support – both academic and pastoral – they benefit from as undergraduates at this University. It is this close sense of community, coupled with excellent teaching and outstanding facilities, that make the Lincoln experience so special.”
The results reinforce findings from the recent Teaching Excellence Framework, where the University of Lincoln was rated Gold for delivering “consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students”.
TEF’s panel of independent experts found “a comprehensive and embedded approach to student engagement that provides opportunities for students and staff to work closely together” and commended the “outstanding physical and digital resources which pervade all aspects of student experience, including state-of-the-art teaching spaces”.
