New Scholarship to Kick-start the Careers of Future Nurses, Social Workers and Teachers on Offer in Lincoln

The Lincolnshire Applied Social Science Scholarship will be available to students from the Greater Lincolnshire area who secure a place on the University of Lincoln’s new BSc Applied Social Science course. The bursary of £500, awarded to first year students, is intended to help towards living and associated study costs.
The Applied Social Science course is a new multi-disciplinary course, with the first cohort due to begin in September 2019. The course will offer an introduction to the principles of social science subjects including law, politics, sociology, psychology, criminology, sports science, education and health and social care. With a range of possible career pathways, students will have the opportunity to specialise in a particular area in their second and third years as well as undertaking work experience placements.
Dr Stephanie Armstrong, Programme Leader said: “The course has been designed to offer wide-ranging skills, opening the doors to a variety of careers in different fields when our students graduate.
“The scholarship will offer an extra element of support for students from the Greater Lincolnshire area as they begin to explore the possibilities career in the social sciences.”
