New Student Choice Awards Place Lincoln Among UK’s Top 10 in Three Categories

The University of Lincoln has been ranked among the UK’s top 10 in three categories of the 2020 WhatUni Student Choice Awards. The WhatUni Student Choice Awards reflect undergraduate and postgraduate experiences over the past year from higher education institutions across the UK and the rankings are collated from over 41,000 student reviews.

In the latest rankings, the University of Lincoln was placed 5th for local life (out of 131 institutions listed), reflecting the amazing city and student experience; and 7th (out of 67) for international, in recognition of the diverse and welcoming University community.

Lincoln was also ranked 7th (out of 24) for postgraduate opportunities and experience, 26th for facilities, and 28th in the University of the Year category (both of 131).The latest awards come shortly after the University of Lincoln was featured for the first time in the Times Higher Education’s (THE) Young University Rankings which list the best global universities under 50 years of age and its award of a top five-star score overall in the prestigious QS Stars rating system of global universities.

Professor Toby Wilkinson, Deputy Vice Chancellor (External Relations) at the University of Lincoln, said: “The WhatUni Student Choice Awards are a direct reflection of students’ experiences which is why we are extremely pleased to receive these positive ratings from our undergraduate, postgraduate and international students. Students are at the heart of everything we do and together with other recent awards, these latest accolades demonstrate our commitment to offering an outstanding all-round student experience and quality of teaching.”

Earlier this year the University of Lincoln was listed among the world’s elite universities, placed in the global top 1,000 in the QS World University Rankings 2021. The University is rated Gold, the highest standard possible in the national teaching Excellence Framework and is ranked among the UK’s top 20 universities in The Guardian University Guide 2020.
