Lincoln International Business School at the University of Lincoln has recently installed Bloomberg Terminals on campus, enabling students and staff to monitor and analyse real-time financial market data.
The Bloomberg Terminal is designed to help industry professionals make better-informed investment decisions by offering the latest market news along with historical data and an international network to communicate securely and reliably.
On campus access will offer a practical resource for students to reinforce the theories they learn in lectures, as well as enable them to become familiar with the tools being used by today’s financial services professionals. Staff will also be able to utilise it for their own research.
Dr Hao Quach, Associate Professor in Finance and Banking, said: “I am delighted with the arrival of the Bloomberg Terminal. Strong industry links are vital and are in the best interests of everyone, especially in these extraordinary times.
“The School’s Student Managed Investment Fund, an educational tool run by students, will be able to utilise this resource in a professional setting, making their whole academic experience even more realistic. It will also be used for extra-curricular training for students to develop industry-relevant skills.
Head of Department, Siobhan Goggin, said: “Our state-of-the-art Bloomberg Laboratory will enable students in accountancy, banking, finance and economics to access data from financial markets across the world. It reinforces our commitment to all our students to help ensure they have the best possible student experience whilst studying with us here in Lincoln International Business School.”
Chair of the Lincoln International Advisory Board and Marketing Partner at Streets Accountants, James Pinchbeck, said: “Having access to the Bloomberg Terminal provides an exceptional opportunity for Lincoln International Business School students to undertake their studies with access to high-quality, real-time data. This is likely to enhance student employability, along with the depth of insight that students will develop around the context for business and commerce.”
