TV Star and National Young People’s Mental Health Ambassador, Dr Alex George, is giving prospective students a chance to see how they can broaden their horizons by bringing a taste of Lincoln to a fun and interactive event at the British Museum, London.
On Wednesday 18th August, the University of Lincoln UK, will be hosting an interactive open day with Dr Alex George, giving prospective students an insight into student life and making the move away from home.
Students will also discover the exciting range of courses and support available on what could be their journey at the University of Lincoln.
There will be link ups from purpose-built accommodation located on the University’s beautiful Brayford Pool Campus, and also with the Students’ Union that will give young people a real sense of University life. All followed by a virtual guided tour of the stunning city of Lincoln.
Emma Jubbs, Assistant Director of Student Recruitment at the University of Lincoln, said: “I’m thrilled to be bringing a slice of Lincoln to the capital. It’s a fantastic chance for us to meet future students and talk to them about life here in our wonderful city.
“Moving away is a big decision and we want parents and students to be well informed. To have Dr Alex George offering advice on the day and helping young people to prepare for University is fantastic.”
Dr Alex George will be offering advice on what to consider when preparing to take that next step to University, from how to make friends to staying positive and making the most of the University experience.
Dr Alex George, said: “I’d love to see as many young people as possible and hear about what would help them moving forward. It’s vital that students and young people have a voice as we work together to transition back to a more normal way of living and learning.”
The London Open Day will offer guests refreshments throughout and finish with a parents question and answer session.
