Lambing Sunday returns to Riseholme Park Farm next month, and the University of Lincoln are inviting the public to come and meet the newest arrivals to the flock, and in turn, help raise money for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
On Sunday 13 March, between 10am and 4pm, the University will be holding a fun, family friendly event with opportunities to meet baby lambs, view the Lincoln Red Cattle at the new roundhouse and get a feel for life at a real working farm.
Guests can also enjoy stalls where there will be numerous arts and craft activities, and children and adults can take part in a nature trail.
The University of Lincoln will be joined by Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and the Lincolnshire Institute of Agricultural Technology, who will have their robots on display. Food and drink will also be available with two food stalls open on the day.
Lambing Sunday is a charity event, to raise money for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, and a small donation will be requested for each ticket. The recommended donation will be £2.50.
Tickets can be booked by going to https://estates.lincoln.ac.uk/lambing-sunday
Entry is available on the day and cash donations will be accepted for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. However, entry numbers are limited so it is advised to book tickets in advance.
Matt Bagley, Farm and Estate Manager at the University of Lincoln’s Riseholme Campus, said: “We are very pleased to bring back Lambing Sunday at Riseholme, and kick off spring in the most traditional way.
“This will be a day out for everyone where you’ll be able to experience life on a working farm, and see our baby lambs come into the world.
“We are very proud to be supporting the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, who receive no direct government funding and responded to more incidents last year than ever before in the 27-year history of the charity.”
Riseholme Park Farm is a working farm and visitors are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
To protect farm livestock dogs are not allowed at this event, with the exemption of guide dogs only.
