The public lecture, titled Everyday Life at the Court of King John, will discuss the highly unusual habits, of medieval England’s most notorious king. Stephen is a specialist on this topic and is currently writing the Yale English Monarchs volume on King John.

He brings a wealth of experience to Lincoln that builds on the existing strengths in Medieval Studies and the school of Humanities and Heritage. The appointment of Professor Church will elevate the profile of Medieval Studies and LSHH.”
