From Medicine to Midwifery, Psychology to Paramedic Science, there are so many ways to start - or further - a career in health at the University of Lincoln.

The University’s upcoming Health Courses Open Campus, is a showcase of how it can help those looking to make a start in the health sector take their first steps, or help those already working in the industry to take their career to the next level.

Taking place at the University’s Brayford Pool Campus on 5 April, the Open Campus is a chance for anyone at any stage of life and career to learn more about the University’s wide ranging offering of health related courses and the different entry routes to them from apprenticeships and traditional undergraduate courses, through to postgraduate provision and post-registration programmes.

Those attending will be able to find out more about courses like Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Medicine, Biomedical Science and much more.

The University of Lincoln is a fantastic place to learn a health related discipline and is proud of the role its graduates and researchers play in supporting the local healthcare sector – whether its through its graduate nurses, who operate across a range of settings; or the Lincoln Medical School which recently celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of doctors and is now working towards independence; or through the work of the Lincoln Institute for Rural and Coastal Health (LIRCH), a £10.9 million research institute dedicated to tackling health inequalities in rural and coastal communities.

The Health Courses Open Campus is an opportunity for prospective students to learn all about how a health-related qualification from the University of Lincoln can help propel their career, explore the University’s cutting edge facilities, meet the academics behind the courses, and gain firsthand insight into the learning experience.

Jamie Read, Dean of the Lincoln Medical School, said: “Careers in healthcare are extremely rewarding and give individuals the opportunity to make huge differences to individual patients and the wider community. This event will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the healthcare field and the courses on offer.”

The Open Campus event will be hosted in the University’s Isaac Newton Building from 10am to 12pm, with tours of the University’s clinical suites running throughout. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak to expert teams about practice placements, fees and funding, admissions, personal statements, interviews, and student support.

Those wishing to attend can book their place via the University’s website.
