The University of Lincoln has appointed a new Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Development and Engagement.
Professor Liz Mossop will work with colleagues across the institution to enhance the student experience with a particular focus on teaching and learning, student engagement and employability.
Formerly Professor of Veterinary Education and Sub-Dean for Teaching, Learning and Assessment at the University of Nottingham, she was the recipient of the Lord Dearing Award for outstanding teaching in 2007, and in 2016 was given a National Teaching Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy.
She brings particular expertise in novel curriculum design and delivery, with an emphasis on the teaching and assessment of professional skills and professionalism.
Professor Mary Stuart, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, said: “At Lincoln we have established a national reputation for our innovative approach to student engagement, reflected in our Gold award in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) in 2017.
“I am delighted that Liz has joined us. She brings an outstanding track record for innovation in curriculum design, teaching and learning and above all a strong commitment to students and their development. I am sure colleagues across the University are pleased to welcome her to Lincoln.”
Professor Liz Mossop added: “I am delighted to join the University of Lincoln. I am incredibly impressed at the range and quality of student engagement initiatives undertaken by what is clearly an enthusiastic and innovative team.
“I am very much looking forward to learning more about the excellent teaching and learning happening at Lincoln, and being part of a team who are so ambitious and forward thinking when it comes to the student experience.”
