University staff and students are delighted to be supporting the delivery of this year’s City of Lincoln 10K Team Challenge in partnership with not-for-profit events company, Run For All.
Taking place on Sunday 16 April, the newly branded ‘Team Challenge’ will sit alongside the main event of the day, the City of Lincoln 10K.
Ian Hodson, Head of Reward / Acting Director of People, Performance, and Culture at the University of Lincoln, UK said: “We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with the Lincoln 10k. It is a marquee event for the city and region, and as key part of that community it is vital the University of Lincoln supports it. Our staff and students are not only participating but also offering their expertise and help in supporting the event on the day. We want to see as many organisations and people take part as possible, raise lots of money for charity, and promote health and wellbeing.”
The University of Lincoln’s support for the Team Challenge forms a vital part of the University’s wider aims to promote the health and wellbeing of its staff and students. Over 200 University of Lincoln staff and students will be taking part in the City of Lincoln 10K Team Challenge.
Aiming to be more inclusive of different teams from all backgrounds, event organizers and the University are inviting teams within local businesses, sport teams, clubs, family or friends to take part. Open to teams of at least five members (with no upper limit on participant numbers), the City of Lincoln 10K Team Challenge will see teams battle it out to be crowned Team Challenge Champions.
Rather than competing as individuals, participants will work collectively to cross the line in the quickest combined time. In addition to being team focused, the Team Challenge boasts a more premium package with the inclusion of a few extra perks and benefits such as a race day kit, race day hospitality, digital team photos, team t-shirts and prizes for the winners.
Individual and team challenge runners are encouraged to raise money for charities either of their own choice or one of the event’s partner charities: the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Sophie’s Journey and Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
Kayleigh Dawson, Partnerships Manager at Run For All said: “We are delighted to be announcing the University of Lincoln as the title partner for the 2023 City of Lincoln 10K Team Challenge. Their commitment helps ensure our runners have a fantastic race day experience.
“The event promises to be a great way of encouraging team spirit within the local community but also a fantastic way to inject a bit of friendly rivalry between teams. We invite teams of all sizes and combinations to take part, whether that be a business looking for a team building exercise or a group of friends looking for an opportunity to fundraise for a cause close to their heart.
“We also look forward to welcoming runners of all abilities and ages to take part in the 10K. Whether runners are looking to chase a PB, fundraise for a charity of choice or a new personal challenge, we endeavour to facilitate a way for all to take part.”
As one of the highlights in the region’s sporting calendar, thousands of runners of all abilities and ages are expected to be taking part in the City of Lincoln 10K.
Starting on Riseholme Road and finishing outside the towers of Lincoln Cathedral, runners can expect to take in a selection of Lincoln’s most iconic sights including the Roman Walls and the stunning gardens around the city.
The event is working closely with local businesses across the region and is encouraging anyone interested in partnering with the event to get in touch.
